Verizon Wireless to launch NFL Mobile

Today Verizon Wireless announced that beginning in April it will offer NFL Mobile to its customers. NFL Mobile will provide coverage of the April 22-24 NFL Draft as well as the NFL RedZone Channel from the NFL Network. Customers will be able to stream Sunday Night Football and Thursday Night Football, access fantasy football stats, and more. Supported phones and pricing has not yet been detailed.

Palm webOS plug-in development kit (PDK) now available

Today Palm announced that its webOS plug-in development kit (PDK) is now available to the public. The PDK works with Palm's webOS software development kit (SDK) and allows developers to use C and C++ programming languages with web technologies. The PDK will make it easier for developers that have written 3D games games for other platforms to port them over to webOS. The PDK is available today from developer.palm.com.

Vodafone's HTC Magic shipping with Mariposa botnet malware

Reports are surfacing that Vodafone in Spain is shipping the Android powered HTC Magic devices loaded with Mariposa botnet malware. The bots were planted by a hacker named "tnls." Vodafone says the attack was an isolated incident and that it is taking appropriate actions to safeguard its customer privacy.

Cisco dropping WiMAX hardware development

Did AT&T lock out untrusted apps on Motorola BACKFLIP?

According to a number of sources across the web, the Motorola BACKFLIP is unable to install applications that aren't inside the Android Market, otherwise known as "untrusted" apps. We are still waiting on our review unit, but should this prove true, that means BACKFLIP owners won't be able to install untrusted applications, like the recent beta version of Swype, for example. Goldman Sachs slashes Google Nexus One sales estimate for 2010
